And yes, they found this woman and arrested her for harrassment and assault. She is obviously going through a severe manic episode, and the woman who she is yelling at has been so gracious. She is not pressing any charges and has refused to be interviewed on camera because she has said she doesn't want to embarrass the yelling chick. Better woman than me!

Boy, do I work with a bunch of assholes (badum bum) . . .

Oh, I've been having SO much fun over the last two weeks. My new job at SGA has been a Godsend in so many ways. To begin with, the hours are so perfect - I leave as soon as I put Gracie on the bus, and I get home about 15 minutes before she does. The office is about 15 minutes away, so the drive is nothing. The people are great, and I love the work. Its very cool how its set up; its in a doctor's office, but the endoscopy suite where I am is attached to the office. Its like a little mini-unit at the hospital. We have two procedure rooms, five bed bays separated by curtains (kind of set up like an ER), a nurse's station, etc. And I get to do a little of everything, so its even more fun. I do the nursing thing, prepping patients, starting IVs, doing post-op, and all that fun stuff, but I also tech as well, so I get to go into the procedure rooms and assist the doctors. We do colonoscopies and endoscopies (EGD) where we go down people's throats and into their stomachs with the scope. I set up the procedure, get the scopes ready, get the patient's situated, and then when the doc comes in, I'm his right hand gal. I take care of the biopsies and pathology - the scopes have a little chamber in them where you can thread a snare into it, so when the doc sees something he wants to send to the lab, I thread the snare through the scope, snip some tissue or remove whatever polyps, and bring them back through the scope to send off. That was a little unnerving the first few times I did it. The actual cutting didn't get me (though putting into perspective that I was snipping off pieces of people's intestine, stomach, or throat was weird), but I was terrified of pulling the snare back through the scope wrong and flinging the biopsy across the room *splat*. Its all very awkward - the scopes are like dealing with giant six foot snakes and the snares are looooong bend-y wires that you have to be able to pull quickly out of the scope while keeping the forceps closed to avoid dropping the tissue samples. The movements of everything are the hardest to get used to, especially when you remember that the scopes cost thousands of dollars and dropping them is NOT an option. After the procedure I break everything down and then have to process the scope before putting them in the sterilizer. That's a lot to remember too, because you have to coil the giant thing in the bottom of a sink, air test it, take all the buttons off and brush clean all the chambers, all the while they are bringing another patient into the exam room to start the next procedure which I have to set up for. And all the docs like their stuff set up differently - Kulkarni wants only two gloves for colonoscopies, Kukler and the rest want three. Owens always wears a mask, Kukler wants to put his own KY on the scopes. But all the docs are super nice and very down to Earth, Shorr excepted - he's just a little weird. In fact, we were doing scopes the other day and Kukler, the anestitist, Thelma (one of the other techs) and I were all making up porn names for different big budget movies, such as 'Saving Ryan's Privates' and 'When Harry Ate Sally'. It was so wrong and immature but so damn funny. Its very funny what doctors will talk about when they have a patient knocked out on the table in front of them. And knocking out the patients is funny too - we put everyone under general, and as their going out or coming to some of the strangest things will come out of their mouths.

I was actually very bummed out that I have the rest of the week off. Since I'm working PRN, I don't work every day, and I hate that. Being back to work has done such fantastic things for me mentally that I really have no interest in being at home by myself. And while its been a little hard on my body, I'd much rather be out and moving than on my couch with a heating pad.

So needless to say, things are really looking up. I am back doing what I was born to do and getting paid for it is helping to ease our financial worries as well. But above everything is just the fact that I am getting out of the house and I have a whole group of people that I have really clicked well with. Every day I have a routine, someone to talk to (even if its just about made up porn names) have someone to eat lunch with, someone to laugh with - and when you don't have that for so long is becomes so obvious how absolutely precious little things like that are. And how grateful I am to have them back.

I hope all you guys are doing well. I miss and love every one of you, and think about you every day. I need to get caught up here, so forgive me if I'm a little behind!

I GOT A JOB!!!!!!!!

I'll be working at Southern Gastroenterology, and I start Monday for orientation. I'll be working PRN to begin with because the woman whose job that I was actually applying for retracted her resignation, but they didn't want to lose me (blush). Basically I'll be prepping people for endoscopies, colonoscopies, any kind of 'oscopy' you can think of. And the manager wants to train me as a tech as well, so in addition to my nursing skills, I'll also be able to perform some of the procedures myself.

I'm so excited. I just wish I had some money - I want to go out and buy some new scrubs so bad. God knows my old ones won't fit for shit. And I have to dig up my shoes . . . Oh, I'm so excited!!

Here - just tired. Hopefully my insurance will be back on like this week, so praying to go that this new job I 'm interested in was successful. It would be great - its close to the house, the hours are phenominal, and I would be much more than a typical nurse than someone behind the desk, considering an endoccopy center as well, meaning I get to start IV an all that junk. Booya!!

Becca got dog a from the pound yesterday. . She's an Auctrlian shepard and her name her name is Gypsy. Her main color is a blue-ish with black spots . And she's got such nice personal attitude. I got really pissed at my brother last night - he's on Aderol for his concerntration issues. and he only takes it when he feels liike it because he says it makes him feel crapy. I got onto him about making sure he was taking like he told too, skipping whole weekends so he chill. And of course, he told me I have no room or right to talk (in from of Gracie) because I was a pill popping addict. Amd I'm sure he's poppng pill in Athen as well - he told me is was taken three Utrams at once i from of me turd bag

Oh, well - many laundries too fo caliing my name.

Please take down or make private the post from Feb.23rd. Its unnecessarily mean and pretty much down right cruel. I don't expect you to understand my life, my family's life, or what I am going through, but there is absolutely no need to make lite of it or make fun of me. If I had to work the night shift at a 7-11 in the worst neighborhood in Atlanta to help support my family, I would. You don't have to like me one bit, but have enough respect for me to remove your nasty comments.

And yes, comments are disabled. This needs to go no further than it already has.

The party was great. I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to pull it off because I had been hurling the last few days before, but all went off without a hitch. My in-laws, especially my MIL, were amazing. She had all kinds of games for the kids to play, baked they cookies to sneak to they before dinner, and just generally being my right hand woman. I could have kissed her.

On Thursday, Dave and I will be leaving for Seattle - our first vacation as a married couple that has nothing to do with a tattoo convention. Can you believe that? Seven years of marriage and we've never gotten away sans baby - except for the Richmond convention which was a disaster on the Gracie front since my mom was so sick and Gracie was freaking the whole time. This time, she's staying at home and Dave's parents are coming to stay with her. That way, school will not be interrupted and she'll be in her own home. Plus, my mom hates Dave so much she refused to watch Gracie for us while we were gone.

I'm a little nervous about Dave's parents being here. Mostly because of their driving. Dave mom always drives and that's fine, but they have a horrible tendency to get lost even going to some of the easiest places. I had to make a huge list of direction to places around town for them, which was lovely. But at least we've got the house more under control. We've had the front porch stairs fixed, the door and the trim around the door that O'Malley decided to eat for a late night snack. We also had a new door placed by the garage - the old one has lost the threshold and was barely hanging on by a thread. So that's fixed, as well as all the locks in the house. Now all the doors except the front door open with one key. And the carpets cleaned also - which was so very needed and looks so great.

I have a ton to do - clean out my bedroom, clean out the kitchen cabinets so they make some sort of sense to them, clean out the pantry and the fridge, go grocery shopping, go to Target and get some new towels among other things, make a HUGE list of directions to things around the house, Gracie's habits, how to use various things, etc. I've already typed out three pages and am well on to page four before I quit. Dave cleaned the garage so well I could kiss him for it. Then I have to do laundry and pack, make sure the basket for Gracie's fall fest is inventoried at the school, not to mention finish the scarf that goes with it. God, the more I finish doing something, the more stuff I think of that I have to do.

I actually was so tense this past week that I started getting sick Wednesday night, and was throwing up on Saturday.I finally started eating again yesterday. But thank God for my good friend Klonipin - the glass of wine in a pill form. And yes, I plan on popping a few of those puppies before I get on the four hour plane ride, which I am also NOT looking forward to.

But with deep breaths, a lot of smokes, and my Klonpin, I'm getting it done. And I'm sure we will have a great trip.

We're staying at Victorian Gardens 1888 Bed and Breakfast. We're staying in the Spiral Staircase Room. Looks kinda swanky. A a good page for some no-kid-around snogging. >;)

We're leaving Thursday and coming back Monday. The reason we chose Seattle was because Dave is still hell bent on trying to get me to move there. We found a few houses we want to look at, including this one built in 1925. 5 bedrooms, only 1.75 baths (not sure what the .75 of a bathroom would be), killer front porch (a must for me), GREAT retro kitchen, bathroom shown has a clawfoot tub, nice yard and back deck, new hardwood floors and those classic built in shelves on either side of the columns in the living room, a wood burning stove (how quaint!). Make sure you look at the slide show. . . we plan on going by to see it while we're out there. Only drawback is the 'child molester' paneling in the basement. I mean, that's an easy fix and its far outweighed by the fact that the basement is finished in the first place.

Nerves nerves nerves . . . and I know coffee and smokes so does not help, but they are my best friends right now. I just keep having to tell myself 'We're going to have a GREAT time'. And I'm sure we are.

Body - finally getting back to normal, not having to take the pain pills that make me puke anymore. I did go through six pounds of Epsom salts for my bath is about five days time, though. Its old school Papa's method of pain control, but sometimes it works.

Summer - fun so far. Lot of time at Grammy's house, swimming and hanging out at the pool. Great story about a poolside jewelry heist I'll have to tell you later. Love the spray on sunblock. Rocks my socks for hitting up tattoos.

Husband - no comment. He's still breathing. That's enough.

Pregnant - nope. At this point, not sure I ever will be unless God choses me for the second coming.

Finally knitting again and trying to get my house back in order after my 'convalescence', because God knows no one can help out when MJ is down. I got these lacy curtain things for the wide doorway into my living room and another for the living room into the kitchen - they look totally 40s, but can't decide if I like them yet. I'll post pics later and you can decide.

Taking Gracie over to her best friend 'MB's house this morning (Matthew Britt - but he is now been shortened to just MB) and hopefully going to my mom's for a swim. Better get my fat, slow ass in gear.

One day, I promise - I am going to stop making such damn depressing posts and my life is going to be funny and interesting again . . . at least I keep telling myself that.

During a conversation - OK maybe a heated one - it was mentioned that the other person felt like they had to walk on eggshells around me for fear of saying something that may piss me off. Personally, that's a bullshit excuse because there are a small handful of subjects that will instantly piss me off and this person knows them very well, so don't poke the bear with a stick - right? No need for eggshells otherwise. Then I was told that this person was not the only one that felt that way - that they had been told by my mother than my father felt the same way - that he also felt like he had to walk on eggshells.

That was just like ice in my heart. Its hard to explain how I feel about my dad - we have a strained relationship, we fought like hell when I was a teenager, he's very conservative, but other than my husband, there is not a man on this Earth that I love more than him. He's strong, he's handsome, he's a good man who has always taken care of his family first. His hand on my shoulder when he walks by me is enough to instantly lift my mood and make me feel safe.

Anyway, he doesn't talk much when I'm at my mom's house, but I always figured that was because I was always jawing away at my mom and he was always watching football or something. But I had no idea it was a purposeful avoidance of me.

I called my mom today to chat, and casually brought it up, and she spot on confirmed it for me. Apparently, there are so many things about my life - tattoos, hair color, choice of husband etc - that bother him about me that he has taken the 'if you can't sat anything nice . . .' route and decided to talk to me as little as possible. And I'm also still paying for things I did/said when I was 15 . . . twelve years later, a mother and a wife, and I'm still paying for telling my dad to fuck off. And as I remember, he wasn't Mr. Clever himself back then. He was quite fond of the bottle and there were many a fight that was started because he had a little too much and decided to tear me into pieces because my boyfriend had tattoos and my hair was purple and Black Flag was not his choice of acceptable music. Never mentioned I always always home by curfew, that my grades were decent, that I had a job and paid for my car and my insurance on time every month, only had one detention (for being late) throughout all of my schooling. Just my hair was purple and my boyfriend had tattoos, and I played 'Damaged' a little too much.

And I let his drinking and everything that went with it go years ago and never let it come back. Even being pinned up against the wall by my throat or back handed so hard it flipped me over my double bed. I let it go because he wasn't the same man and also because I loved him.

It is just so sad to me that someone I care for so much, idolize really, would feel that way about me. That as a grown woman, I'm still not good enough for him to accept or even talk to.

Went over to my mom's tonight for dinner, and right after we walked into the door, my mom asked Gracie how her day was. "Oh it was good - we had a book fair today." "Really?, " my mom said " What did you get?" "Nothing, I didn't have any money with me" and she bounced off into the next room to get something to color. My mom looked at me like I was Satan. "She had no money for the book fair? Why?" "Well, to be honest, there wasn't a whole lot of good communication between the school and I really didn't know it was going on. I knew it was going on after school, but I didn't know it was going on during school as well, so I didn't send any money with her." "Oh, I doubt that. It your job to make sure you know everything that was going on. You dropped the ball on the Boosterwalk too last week." She just rolled her eyes at me.

Yeah - Gracie - who is do deprived of books. The child has so many books that she has a vintage REFRIGERATOR in her bedroom that we keep them in and we're STILL tripping over them. They're under the bed, in the play room, in the living room, in my room . . .

So later when my mom and I were outside together, she said, "I didn't mean to jump on you when you came in about the whole book fair thing, but with the way you dress, all "glammed" up and everything, if you forget things like sending money for the book fair and stuff, they're going to think that you are selfish and only spend time on yourself and just had Gracie for fun. And then the next thing you know Gracie is at the back of the line . . . ."

Jesus Christ.

New Convention Tradition

I guess its just going to have to become a 'convention tradition', like Gracie getting to sleep in my bed and me having a movie marathon of all the girlie movies that Dave won't watch with me otherwise (and me going shopping). The damn cats set off the alarm AGAIN. What was freaky was that when I came downstairs to turn the alarm of, nothing was amiss, so I was like, "which one of you asshole set off the alarm and how". The the phone rang, which I knew was Brinks, but when I answered it, it was just dead air. So I hung up and tried to redial Brinks myself - no dial tone. Great - this is where the guy in the slasher mask comes out with the axe. The I remembered that my thighs were much too big and my boobs much to small for a slasher film and my fear subsided. The the phone rang again - it was Dave. Brinks called him, so he called me to make sure everything was OK, which it was. Those little orange bastards . . . . They are just pure evil. The only good thing was the alarm when off at the same time I needed to get up anyway, I just would have rather it been my alarm clock as opposed to the house alarm that woke me this morning.

Taking Gracie to Babyland General today with the in-laws. I went when I was a kid and it was SO cool, but that was in about 1985 at the height of the Cabbage Patch craziness, so who knows what it will be like today. But they want to take her, and they're paying so whatever. I just wish it wasn't an hour and a half drive . . .and involve my in-laws. Don't worry - bringing the camera for sure!

Now I'm off to take a shower. Wish me luck. Who knows, I might still have some crazy guy hiding in my house somewhere in the shadows admiring my wainscoting and waiting for the right minute to come GET ME!!!!!
